AMMAN — The Royal Film Commission-Jordan (RFC) on Sunday announced that the Academy Award winning film “Dune” has completed filming certain scenes in Wadi Rum and Wadi Araba as well as in the southeast desert of Jordan to ensure continuity in the highly anticipated “Dune: Part Two”, according to a statement from the RFC.

The epic action-adventure benefitted from the support of the RFC for the scenes shot in Jordan. Production services were provided by Zaman Productions and the film received additional assistance from numerous production partners, the RFC announced on its website.

“The film will once again showcase the iconic sandstone and breathtaking rock formations in the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s best-selling novel. Local crews here have been an amazing resource and the logistics and production support have been outstanding,” said Herbert Gains, EVP of Physical Productions at Legendary Entertainment, as quoted by the RFC.

“We are delighted that Dune has returned to Jordan. This is proof that the country is a unique filming destination, with talented local crew that makes everything possible,” said Mohannad Al Bakri, Managing Director of RFC Jordan.   “In addition to locations and crew, we provide a whole array of services and incentives. It is worth mentioning that Dune benefitted from both the cash rebate and the tax exemption and received considerable support from the army.”

“Dune: Part Two” follows the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen, while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he must prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

The cast of “Dune: Part Two” includes Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Christopher Walken, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Dave Bautista, Lea Seydoux, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling and Javier Bardem, the RFC statement said.
