AMMAN — Minister of Agriculture and Environment Ibrahim Shahahdeh on Wednesday noted that the government is expanding organic agriculture and contract farming to compete in international markets.

The comment came during discussions with French Ambassador to Amman David Bertolotti, on bilateral ties in the fields of agriculture and environment, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Shahahdeh reviewed the projects needed to develop the agriculture sector, particularly those that depend on renewable energy.

He added that the laws would be amended to allow for the development of the agricultural sector. Bertolotti   expressed his country's readiness to offer support in the fields of energy, agriculture and environment.
