17 schools to receive solar panels, energy-saving HVAC systems

AMMAN — Energy Minister Saleh Kharabsheh on Sunday announced that 17 schools in various regions of the Kingdom will be provided with solar cell panels and energy-saving heating systems and cooling units as part of a Royal Initiative implemented by the Renewable Energy and Energy Rationalisation Fund in the ministry, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Chairman of the Fund’s Board of Directors Saleh Kharabsheh said that this project is part of a programme implemented by the fund, which has thus far helped 128 schools in various governorates of the Kingdom provide a better learning environment for students.

The programme also includes launching awareness campaigns for teachers, students and parents regarding energy conservation and solar panel systems.

Director of the Renewable Energy and Energy Rationalisation Fund Rasmi Hamzeh said that the project includes the design, supply, installation, connection, operation, three-year maintenance period and testing of renewable and efficient energy systems for public schools.
