AMMAN — Some 700,000 narcotic pills were found hidden inside 25 iron pipes inside an industrial boiler during an Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) raid which saw three people arrested on suspicion of attempting to smuggle drugs outside the Kingdom, the Public Security Department (PSD) said on Tuesday.
The AND received a tip-off about suspects preparing and storing narcotics in order to smuggle them abroad, the PSD said.
A farm in Zarqa Governorate, 22km northeast of Amman, was identified and monitored in order to determine the best time to carry out a raid, the PSD added, saying that AND personnel arrested the suspects and found the drugs during the raid.
