AMMAN — The value of certificates of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) in 2022 increased by 19.6 per cent, reaching JD885 million, compared with JD740 million in 2021, the ACC announced on Monday.

The number of ACC-issued certificates of origin, which are necessary for the export of goods and commodities, totalled 34,309 in 2022, compared with 35,866 in 2021, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported citing ACC's statistical data.

The ACC certificates reached many countries in 2022, primarily Saudi Arabia with 8,380, followed by Kuwait with 6,453, the United Arab Emirates with 4,468, Iraq with 1,415 and Egypt with 1,068.

Export values to Iraq amounted to JD251 million in 2022, followed by Egypt at JD109 million, Saudi Arabia at JD104 million, the United Arab Emirates at JD94 million and Kuwait at JD36 million, the ACC figures showed.

The total value of re-exported foreign products reached approximately JD406 million in 2022, while industrial and agricultural exports came to approximately JD159 million, and re-exported products from Arab countries measured JD71 million.

The ACC issues certificates of origin for Jordanian agricultural and livestock products, raw Jordanian natural resources, re-exported foreign goods and foreign goods purchased from the local market under specific conditions.

The chamber also issues certificates for Jordanian industrial products at the exporter's request based on an original factory invoice certified by a Jordanian chamber of industry, which proves the Jordanian origin of the goods.
