Agreement signed for establishing women's centre for creative work

AMMAN — The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), the Ministry of Labour, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Jordan Chamber of Commerce on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at establishing a women's centre for creative work at Queen Rania Park in Umm Nowarah region.

The project will be funded by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Labour Minister Nidal Bataineh highlighted the role of the public-private partnership, which led to this agreement, expressing the ministry's keenness to support all initiatives aimed at empowering women and increasing their economic partnership.

German Ambassador to the Kingdom Bernhard Kampmann, highlighted the cooperation channels between the two countries that focus on water, education and recruitment fields during the signing ceremony.

He praised the Kingdom's role in receiving and integrating refugees. “Germany supports Jordan's efforts towards achieving youth’s goals related to training and women's integration into the labour market," he added.
