Al Rai provides certified reports on printing press graft case

AMMAN — The Jordan Press Foundation (JPF) — Al Rai on Tuesday provided the Attorney General with certified reports documenting details and data on an ongoing investigative law suit filed by the foundation regarding its printing press project.
The suit was filed earlier at the Prosecutor General for suspicions of graft relating to the print press compound and equipment.
The documents submitted to the Attorney General were issued by the respective specialised institutions and certified.
The case revolves around a dispute between the JPF and the project contractor over the value of financial claims pertaining to the press project, located on the Airport Road near
Madaba.
A JPF official explained that the project’s tender was awarded to the contractor at a value of JD10.8 million, adding that "violations were committed".
Consequently, the foundation incurred an additional amount of JD3 million and the contractor was paid a total of JD13.4 million, 24 per cent over the tender's original value.
