AMMAN — Minister of Investment Khairy Amro stressed the importance of Jordan's development and industrial zones, which can create job opportunities countrywide, calling to examine the challenges that face the investment environment.

Amro said that field visits and periodic meetings are held with investors to learn about their plans that contribute to enabling their investments, according to a statement by the Jordan Investment Commission (JIC) on Wednesday, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

This effort aims to launch a partnership with the public and private sectors to find solutions for investment challenges to expand and attract new investments, Amro said at two separate meetings with CEO of the Jordan Industrial Estates Co (JIEC) Omar Juwaid and CEO of the Maan Development Company (MDC) Ayman Sharari.

Amro also stressed the need to intensify efforts, especially in the promotion field, to attract new investments.

He pointed to the government's keenness to implement the Royal vision by providing an attractive investment environment by following up on investment projects and identifying investor needs and providing practical solutions to any related obstacles.

Juwaid praised the Ministry of Investment's efforts to find solutions to these challenges.

Jordan, he said, is an "attractive and competitive" investment environment, adding that in 2021, the industrial estates attracted about 120 new investments and expanded existing investment projects, with a value at about JD93 million, which are expected to provide 3,100 new job opportunities.
