AND foils drug smuggling attempt

AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel have seized 300,000 narcotic pills at a border crossing, which were hidden inside a cargo vehicle, intended for smuggling to a neighbouring country, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson said on Wednesday.
The spokesperson said that AND agents at the crossing, in coordination and cooperation with customs and security personnel, searched a suspected freight truck coming into the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the search of the vehicle loaded with fruits, 300,000 narcotic pills were found, he said.
