Army arrests man attempting to enter Syria

AMMAN — Border guards on Thursday foiled an infiltration attempt by a man who tried to cross the Jordanian border into Syria, according to the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army spokesperson, who said the man was apprehended and referred to the concerned authorities.

The JAF has repeatedly asserted that the  security of Jordanian borders and citizens is a red line and that it will deal with all infiltration attempts in any direction with firmness and power, he said in a statement. 

During the past 48 hours, the border troops received 71 Syrian refugees and transferred them to shelters and camps. Royal Medical Services personnel provided medical care to those who needed it, according to the spokesperson.
