Army chief meets with high-ranking NATO military official

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat on Tuesday attended the Military Strategic Partnership Conference hosted by the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army in cooperation with NATO, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The conference was attended by 241 participants from 51 countries, Petra added. During the conference, Freihat stated that solutions to the economic, political and security challenges facing the international community must be pursued relentlessly.

He added that the conference offers participants the chance to discuss the challenges and find common ground and solutions.

Freihat also affirmed the significance of the cooperation with NATO in enhancing international peace and security, as he met with Director General of the International Military Staff of NATO Lt. Gen. Jan Broeks to discuss regional and international developments in various fields.
