Army chief meets with Italian military delegation, Turkish ambassador

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Thursday met with Lt. Gen. Giuseppe Cavo Dragoni, and an accompanying delegation to bolster joint military cooperation between Jordan and Italy. 

In the presence of the Deputy Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and a number of senior officers of the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army, the Italian ambassador and the Italian military attache in Amman, the two sides discussed recent regional and international developments, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The Jordanian-Italian relations constitute a model for facing various challenges, Huneiti said, voicing keenness to continue cooperation with the Italian armed forces in all military fields, by employing mutual expertise and capabilities.

Dragoni highlighted the depth of the relations between the friendly countries, lauding the pivotal role played by Jordan in combating terrorism and extremism and consolidating security and stability in the region.

Huneiti also met with Turkish Ambassador to Amman Erdem Ozan, in the presence of a number of senior officers of the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army and the Turkish military attaché in Amman, to discuss enhancing cooperation and coordination in various military, training and logistical fields to serve both countries’ interests.
