AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat has met with his US counterpart Gen. Mark A. Milley, Commander of the Marine Corps Gen. Robert B. Neller and other senior officials, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Thursday. During the meeting, held at the Pentagon, Freihat and the officials discussed bilateral cooperation, the US support to the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army and efforts to combat terrorism.

Upon Freihat's arrival to the US, the artillery performed a 21-gun salute and the national anthem was played. He was received by Milley, with whom he reviewed the guard of honour. The chairman placed a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery and later visited Fort Campbell Base and its school, in addition to the Pentagon.
