AMMAN — The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) on Tuesday launched a seabed clean campaign in the northern and central beach areas of Aqaba. This collaborative effort involved 110 divers and 12 boats, in coordination with Aqaba Governorate, the Royal Naval Force, Royal Boats, the Royal Department for Environment Protection, the Civil Defence Directorate, the Aqaba Diving Association, the Blue Team, and the Marine Science Station. The campaign aims to preserve the marine environment in Aqaba. ASEZA Chief Commissioner Nayef Fayez said that the campaign is part of this year's environmental agenda, including 24 cleanup campaigns in the northern, central, and southern shores, along with 24 environmental awareness activities targeting students from schools, universities and civil society institutions. The aim is to raise awareness among visitors about the importance of preserving Aqaba’s marine environment, he added.
