British ambassador visits Karak

AMMAN — British Ambassador to Jordan Edward Oakden on Thursday visited Karak Governorate to observe host communities’ resilience amidst a continuing refugee influx and to open a kindergarten that is part of a UK-funded Mercy Corps project, an embassy statement said.
During his visit, Oakden met with Karak Governor Abdullah Al Khattab and local MP Nayef Leimoun to discuss the pressures facing refugee host communities in regards to health and education.
He also visited a UK-funded physiotherapy centre for people with disabilities in Mutah and met some of the beneficiaries to learn more about the care they receive. The ambassador opened the kindergarten in Khawla Bint Al Azwar school to offer education to young children in the area.
