Cabinet okays salary hike for mosque employees

AMMAN — During its session headed by Prime Minister Omar Razzaz, the Cabinet on Sunday increased the salaries of workers in the positions of imam, muezzin or mosque employees by JD25 under the Dawah Fund and Article 305 of the Awqaf Ministry.
The decision aims to improve the living standard of workers, as the number of beneficiaries of the salary hike increased to a total of 1,107 workers, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Also on Sunday, Awqaf Minister Muhammad Khalayleh briefed the Cabinet on challenges faced by the ministry, which mainly result from a shortage of imams and muezzins.
