AMMAN — The Civil Defence Department (CDD) on Saturday said its cadres have dealt with 2,680 emergency cases since Wednesday.
The CDD media office said that staff dealt with 269 dialysis cases and 104 deliveries until Saturday 10am, in addition to 2,307 evacuations of motorists from accident sites.
CDD cadres will continue to carry out their duties on a 24-hour basis through operations rooms across the Kingdom, said the statement.
The department urged the public to exercise extreme caution and not go out unless for emergencies.
The CDD also called on people to stay away from valleys and water streams.
Also Saturday, electricity companies around the Kingdom said they received thousands of telephone calls to report power cuts, noting that technical cadres fixed the vast majority of power failures.
