AMMAN — On the occasion of Eid Al Adha, and in recognition of the humanitarian role played by charities sponsoring the elderly, Prime Minister Hani Mulki announced a financial support of JD3,000 for each of the charities working with elderly people to help them enhance their services, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The resolution comes as a response to the Royal directives emphasising the need to care for the elderly and to provide all forms of support to charities suffering from difficult financial situations.
On the morning of Eid Al Adha, Minister of Social Development Hala Lattouf is scheduled to visit the Hussein Social Foundation and Al Salam and Samir Shamma Houses for the elderly, Petra said.
She is to check on the situation of the institutions and present the elderly and young people with gifts, in addition to the eid cash handouts, Petra added.
