AMMAN — Deputising for Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs Ibrahim Jazi on Sunday attended a ceremony to honour the winners of the Civil Service Bureau's (CSB) 14th edition of the Ideal Employee Awards.

In his address, Jazi said that His Majesty King Abdullah's vision to develop the state's political, economic and public sectors can be realised through an integrated programme of reform and administrative modernisation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He also noted that the government adopted the Public Sector Modernisation Roadmap to be implemented within a systematic approach and clear timeframes.

For her part, Nisreen Barakat, chair of the award selection committee, said that developing the performance of human resources in civil service is one of the most important elements of the government's Public Sector Modernisation Roadmap.

Barakat explained that the award is held in accordance with the standards, priorities and foundations of the modern civil service, pointing out that the award winners’ efforts are reflected in their work performance and the performance of their colleagues while providing services to citizens.

CSB President Sameh Nasser said that 171 employees, representing 70 out of 97 government departments, were nominated, including 23 who were winners across different categories, with almost 33 per cent working in government institutions outside of Amman Governorate.

Nasser stressed that there are distinguished departments that have won in more than 10 editions of the award, including the National Agricultural Research Centre and Ministry of Education, urging other public departments to follow suit in order to achieve 100 per cent participation of all ministries and public departments.
