AMMAN — The International Conference on the “Prolonged Israeli Occupation and the Reality of Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories Occupied since 1967” kicked off on Saturday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Participants in the conference urged the international community to ensure the legal framework of the Palestinian territory as an occupied land, and of Israel as an occupying power that must be condemned for its illegal policies and practices against the Palestinian people.
Deputising for Prime Minister Hani Mulki, Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of State Musa Maaytah said that the ongoing violating practices of Israelis against the Palestinians are the major reason behind the several crises in the region.
The two-day event is organised by the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions in cooperation with the National Centre for Human Rights and the Independent Commission for Human Rights in Palestine.
