AMMAN — The Consumer Protection Society on Tuesday said that it has approved its Ramadan plan, which includes market monitoring, awareness campaigns on consumption habits and the fielding and follow-up of consumer complaints via official monitoring agencies.
Society President Muhammad Obeidat said that the plan has four aspects, including monitoring, awareness, religious solidarity and a facet tied to the coronavirus, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Obeidat noted that the society will be following up on the availability of basic commodities in sufficient quantities at affordable prices through voluntary teams.
The society will also monitor citizens’ practices while shopping, with the aim of increasing their awareness and urging them to avoid negative practices that may result in contracting the coronavirus, he said.
