Court sentences Daesh-affiliated suspects

AMMAN — The State Security Court (SSC) on Wednesday sentenced four suspects affiliated with Daesh to four to five years in prison with temporary hard labour.
The rulings were issued in a public session, presided over by military judge Col. Mohammad Afeef, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The court charged the Daesh-affiliated suspects with plotting to perform terrorist attacks using weapons in accomplice. The court reduced sentences of hanging for two other suspects, to 15 years behind bars with hard labour.
The two were charged with attacking a security station in Maan. SSC also sentenced several suspects, mainly for affiliation with Daesh, to 4 to 15 years with hard labour, and reduced a charge against a drug dealer from 15 years with hard labour to seven and a half years with a fine of JD10,000, while acquitting seven suspects in the same case.
