AMMAN — The Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding with Sager for Autonomous Robotics, a Jordanian company specialised in manufacturing drones.

The memorandum was signed to boost cooperation in fields related to drone development under the umbrella of TechWorks, a CPF initiative.

Both sides had already planned a cooperative activity to launch a national team for drone races, with the aim of boosting young Jordanians’ skills and knowledge in the field, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The memorandum, signed at TechWorks, stipulates holding workshops to raise the awareness of local communities on legal uses of drones, as well as intensified workshops to build up skills in the sector.

The workshops will also platform trainee nominations for the first national drone racing team.

The CPF will offer its TechWork workshop to Sager to fulfil the company’s training programmes.

CEO of CPF Tamam Mango said that the foundation aimed to reinforce excellence and innovation among young people, underlining Sager as a “distinguished” Jordanian start-up and a pioneer in the field.

Sager CEO and founder Yousef Ammourah added that the company, through a partnership with CPF, sought to enhance the role of drones to meet the needs of local sectors and raise youth participation to create more jobs.
