AMMAN — The historic cohesion between the people and leadership of Jordan has enabled the country to remain faithful to its pan-Arab message and serve the causes of the Arab and Islamic nations, according to HRH Crown Prince Hussein.
In an op-ed carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Sunday on the occasion of Independence Day, the Crown Prince highlighted the hard work that Jordanians and their leadership have exerted to make the country what it is now (see full article).
"We have achieved a lot and overcome difficult times with determination and resolve, and we have learned lessons from the challenges to continue our march forward," he wrote.
Noting that His Majesty King Abdullah has always believed in young people's ability to excel and innovate, the Crown Prince said "it is crucial" to develop their capabilities.
"For that to happen, they need to be equipped with adequate knowledge and education."
He wrote that he looks forward to the launch of the projected Crown Prince Foundation, which will be geared towards serving young Jordanians and their local communities by honing their talents and helping them acquire the experience necessary to excel.
"Our forebears passed on to us a country that boasts noble human principles on which the Great Arab Revolt was based. We, in turn, have to work hard to pass on to our children and grandchildren achievements they can pride themselves in," Crown Prince Hussein added.
"I wish that with every independence anniversary we celebrate, we will have a stronger and better Jordan that will make us all stand tall, proud to be Jordanians."
