AMMAN — The Lower House’s Legal Committee on Tuesday began deliberations over the 2021 draft amendments to the Constitution. The committee's head MP Abdulmunim Oddat, during a meeting attended by Justice Minister Ahmad Ziadat and Minister of State for Legal Affairs Wafaa Bani Mustafa, said that the amendments were discussed with professors of constitutional law and political science towards making the suitable decision, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Bani Mustaf said that the new amendments have focused on ensuring the “effective participation” of youth, women and people with disabilities in public life. The professors shared their recommendations with the gathering, stressing that the amendments should not call for any constitutional changes, only if necessary.
