AMMAN — The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has launched an online platform aimed to update the academic data of Jordanian students studying in Ukrainian universities, according to ministry’s Spokesperson Muhannad Al Khatib.

On Sunday, Khatib told The Jordan Times during a phone interview that “there are currently around 700 Jordanian students in Ukraine, with whom the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates is following up with”.

He further noted that Higher Education Ministry’s e-platform has been established to follow up on the conditions of Jordanians studying in Ukraine, as well as determine their numbers, majors and the universities they study at, in order to have “an integrated database”.

All Ukrainian universities fully switched to distance learning, thereby all students including Jordanian nationals will be able to continue their studies amid Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the spokesperson added.

“The priority now is the safety of Jordanians in Ukraine. The ministry accords priority to the academic achievement of Jordanian students as well,” according to Khatib, calling on Jordanian students who are presently in Ukraine to complete the online form via https://rce.mohe.gov.jo/ukraine/

In case of emergency, assistance may be requested by calling the Jordanian embassy’s number in Ankara, 00905384419586, or the Cultural Office in Kyiv at 00380939361181, or by calling the operations centre at the Foreign Ministry at 00962795497777.
