JSO Director Mahmoud Qaryouti said Aqaba residents felt the quake, which happened at a depth of 30km, and was centred in the northern part of Egyptian Thahab city, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale, followed by four aftershocks, struck Aqaba on May 16, and no causalities or damages were reported.
