AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Mohammad Thneibat on Tuesday met with officials from the EU and discussed the impact of the Syrian refugee crisis on the education sector in Jordan.

The minister told the officials that a large number of Syrian refugees in Jordan places substantial pressure on already-limited resources and infrastructure, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He noted that 5,000 more classrooms have been opened to accommodate the growing number of Syrian students. Thneibat emphasised that the international community is required to support the Kingdom deal with this crisis.
