Energy Minister calls on industrialists to promote efficient energy use

AMMAN — Energy Minister Saleh Kharabsheh on Monday proposed that 2018 be the year of efficient use of energy in the industrial sector, calling on industrialists to present their ideas and to cooperate with the ministry in this regard, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He noted that Germany, through the European Investment Bank, will provide a grant to Jordan to provide loans for small- and medium-sized institutions.

The minister added that the sector should work on reducing the cost of energy use and rationalise its consumption, noting that this would reduce the sector’s bill by 30-40 per cent, according to Petra.
