Environment and Tourism Day launched

AMMAN — The Royal Department for Environment Protection and Tourism on Monday launched Environment and Tourism Day, which saw the participation of school students.
The nationwide event is part of a national campaign for environment protection titled “Our environment is our lung”, as well as part of the Public Security Directorate’s (PSD) efforts in this field, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Activities to honour the day included lectures to raise awareness of the environment and cleaning tours at Dibeen Forest Reserve, the King of Bahrain Forest, Waleh Dam, Jabal Al Qala, the Karak Castle and the Aqaba Bird Observatory.
Students also examined drinking-water and foodstuff at their schools and Civil Defence Directorate personnel conducted disinfecting activities and practical first aid training courses at schools on the day.
