EU implementing 40 projects in Jordan — ambassador

KARAK — The European Union has provided Jordan with 500 million euros in financial assistance, part of which was directed to help it deal with hosting Syrian refugees and the rest to support productive projects in local communities, EU Ambassador to Jordan Joanna Wronecka said Thursday.

During a visit to the Princess Basma Centre in Karak, she said the EU mission in Jordan is currently implementing 40 projects in different sectors.

Wronecka said that the EU will present the Kingdom with 70 million euros in the next two years to develop educational institutions.

The EU will also present 700 scholarships to Jordanian master’s and doctorate degree students to provide specialists in energy and education sectors.
