Facility to train PSD personnel in deradicalisation inaugurated

AMMAN — A training facility of Community Peace Centre to support the effort of the Public Security Department (PSD) in providing rehabilitation and reintegration programmes for radicalised people, funded by the Japanese government, was opened in Amman on Tuesday, an embassy statement said.
In 2017, Japan extended a grant of $924,800 to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to finance the project.
PSD Director Ahmad Sarhan Al Faqeeh, Ambassador of Japan Shuichi Sakurai and Acting Regional Representative of UNODC Regional office in Cairo Julien Garsany attended the event.
