First day of next school year announced

AMMAN — The Education Ministry on Monday announced that the first day of school for students in the academic year 2017/2018 will be September 5.
The scholastic year will start on September 5 instead of September 1, as the dates coincides with Eid Al Adha holiday, the ministry explained, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
The first day of work for staff department will be on August 24. The second semester of the academic year is scheduled to start on February 7, 2018, while the summer vacation is planned to start on June 12.
