AMMAN — Experts on Monday discussed extremism and its security, political, economic and social dimensions during a meeting organised by the Arab Thought Forum and the Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD).

The discussions focused on a recently published book by Ibrahim Gharaibeh titled “A mini-encyclopedia on extremism’s ideology, methods and mechanics”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Journalist and researcher Gharaibeh said that a set of intuitive questions are formed when examining extremism and armed groups, noting that these questions revolve around the armed groups’ ability to attract volunteers, supporters and financial resources needed for recruitment, arming and fighting.

Zaid Eyadat, the chairman of the board of the trustees of ARDD, said that reading the book requires effort in following up ideas, details and analysis, and the reader is required to recall all of his knowledge related to the topic in order to interact and comprehend the book, according to Petra.
