AMMAN — Jordanian and Iraqi military chiefs-of-staff on Wednesday discussed ways to reopen Treibil border crossing and resuming mutual trade, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The border crossing has been closed since 2014. During a joint press conference with his Iraqi Counterpart Gen. Othman Al Ghanim in Baghdad, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat said that Jordan is ready to provide intelligence to the Iraqi side to secure the highway that connects the two countries.

For his part, Ghanim commended the Jordanian role in the fight against terrorism.
