German delegation meets with lawmakers

AMMAN — Head of the Jordanian-German Parliamentary Friendship Society Issa Khashaneh on Tuesday met with member of the German Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee Anton Friesen and an accompanying delegation.

Talks covered bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of energy and water, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Khashaneh called for increased aid to mitigate the effects of the refugee crisis.

During the meeting, MP Jawdat Darabseh also stressed the need for more schools in governorates that host refugees, noting the pressure placed on double-shift schools. 

Friesen was briefed about the challenges and difficulties Jordan face due to the refugee exodus that puts immense pressure on its limited resources.
