Gov’t urges disability care centres to improve services by deadline

AMMAN — Social Development Minister Reem Abu Hassan on Saturday reiterated calls on disability care centres to improve the condition of their facilities.
She noted that the grace period given to these centres to improve their services — in compliance with the new by-law — will end in October and that those found in violation after that will receive warnings.
Abu Hassan noted there are around 31 private care homes in Jordan providing services to 1,212 children with disabilities, and only 16 of them have made the necessary improvements so far.
