Health minister visits assault victims at Al Bashir Hospital

AMMAN — Health Minister Ghazi Zaben on Sunday checked on the health conditions of two doctors who were recently assaulted by the relatives of a patient at Al Bashir Hospital in Amman.
Zaben expressed the ministry’s condemnation and rejection of such acts. He also said that the ministry will never tolerate the violent aggressors, and that it will take the all necessary measures to apprehend the perpetrators and deliver them to justice, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Zaben also followed up on the restructuring of the old facilities, which include internal medicine, paediatrics and surgery rehabilitation. The new facilities will include more than 200 new beds, 40 incubators and six operation rooms.
The minister visited the burns and plastic surgery department and was briefed by department head Mahmmoud Batayneh on the services facilitated at the section and the new expansion, to include 30 new beds, according to Petra.
