Human rights coordinator to visit PSD today

AMMAN — Government Coordinator for Human Rights Basil Tarawneh on Sunday said that he will visit the Public Security Department (PSD) on Monday. Accompanied by the governmental human rights committee, Tarawneh is scheduled to meet with PSD Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Sarhan Faqih and senior officials.
As part of the committee’s field and periodical visits, the coordinator will discuss the issues related to human rights in the Kingdom and applying the standards of human rights with the “best” criteria, Tarawneh told The Jordan Times. The meeting will also cover the recommendations of the Universal Periodic Review and the National Plan for Human Rights, according to the official.
