IEC to re-hold municipal elections in Muwaqqar in October

AMMAN — The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Sunday decided to re-hold the municipal and governorate council elections in Muwaqqar on October 20.
The IEC had cancelled the voting and sorting of the 2017 elections in the area, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
IEC Chairman Khaled Kalaldeh said that the elections will include head of the Muwaqqar municipality and 13 affiliated local councils, in addition to constituencies 28 and 29 of the capital governorate council.
Four local councils will win by default upon announcing final results, according to Petra. IEC also decided to hold the elections of the boards of directors of the chambers of industry on November 10.
