Indian embassy marks Hindi Day

AMMAN — The Indian embassy in Amman on Wednesday marked Hindi Diwas or Hindi Day, an occasion to promote the Hindi language.
During the event, India’s Ambassador to Jordan Anwar Haleem highlighted the cultural and linguistic diversity of India and the importance of Hindi in uniting India, according to an embassy statement.
The National Language Week or “Hindi Saptah” is celebrated every year from September 14. During this week, various programmes and competitions are organised in the country and abroad to promote the use and development of the Hindi language, the statement said.
