AMMAN — Injaz, a local non-profit organisation, with support from the EU, has launched "Campaign for Businesswomen in Technology Sector", which is scheduled to be implemented in the Kingdom's schools.

The campaign aims to provide students with a better understanding of the opportunities available in the technology sector, by meeting successful women in this field, inspiring and motivating students, boosting their perseverance spirit, and encouraging them to achieve their goals, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Saturday, citing an Injaz statement.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Injaz CEO Deema Bibi said that this campaign, which coincides with International Women's Day (IWD), benefits 9th and 10th graders, in coordination with the Ministry of Education and private sector institutions.

She noted that key businesswomen in Jordan's technology sector meet with public school students at "meaningful" interactive sessions, aimed to transfer their expertise and introduce them to the jobs provided by this industry and promote diversity in this field.

Bibi added that 15 leading Jordanian women, who had a "positive and direct" impact on the sector's development, will take part in the campaign, aimed to motivate and help female students choose their professional paths.

The CEO noted that the campaign is implemented across the Kingdom, which would help the participating businesswomen to meet the largest number of female students in various regions and interact with them directly.

The EU is supporting multiple programmes in Jordan to increase digital literacy and enhance related skills, especially among women and youth, and promote entrepreneurship by identifying key opportunities for digital economic growth, the statement said.
