AMMAN — Director of the National Information Technology Centre Bahaa Al Deen Khasawneh on Saturday said that the centre has increased the Internet speed provided to all ministries and public institutions by 40 per cent, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Khasawneh said that the increase came after signing the annual tender for the provision of Internet services with a speed of 3.5 gigabits (GB) per second instead of the 2.5GB per second provided last year.
He said three companies out of six won the tender. Umniah will provide 2,000 megabits (MB) per second, Al Moakhah Company for Logistics and Communications Services will provide 1,000MB per second, and Al Hadatha Internet Services and Technology will provide 500MB per second, the director noted, adding that the tender included the Clean Pipe service.
