AMMAN — Jordan’s Information and Communications Technology Association (int@j) on Wednesday launched the first companies’ leaders council, an int@j statement said on Saturday.
int@j Chairman Bashar Hawamdeh said that the association has provided significant support to startup companies over the last two years, helping them to take part in Arab and international exhibitions.
For his part, Mohammad Jafari, chairman of Innovative Startups Fund, said that startup companies struggle securing funds, which encouraged the Central Bank of Jordan to launch the $98-million startups fund.
During the meeting, which saw the attendance of major ICT companies’ representatives and over 120 startup firms in Jordan, int@j Executive Director Nidal Bitar gave a briefing on the council’s goals and work mechanisms.
