AMMAN — Joramco, the Amman-based maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider and the engineering arm of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), has signed a cooperation agreement with UUDS, which offers cabin and cargo innovative solutions for commercial and private aviation, to expand capabilities for cabin refurbishments and B737-800 passenger to cargo conversions.

Joramco is to manage maintenance, repair and operations capabilities for the P2F conversions (converting passenger aircraft into a freighter) while UUDS will manage the Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) for the aircraft modifications and supply modification KITs, according to a Joramco statement.

CEO of Joramco Fraser Currie said: “We are excited about the potential of our agreement with UUDS. In order to satisfy our customers and market needs in a sustainable and efficient manner, we are developing our capabilities and drawing on UUDS’ know-how in the field of cabin refurbishment and B737-800 P2F certifications. The agreement acknowledges Joramco’s large scope of MRO certifications, and world-class technical abilities.”

UUDS AERO holds European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certificates for design (DOA), production (POA) and maintenance (MOA) organisations, and specialises in innovative and more sustainable repairs and refurbishments of cabin interiors, as well as bio-decontamination and waterless exterior cleaning of aircraft and trains, the statement said.

CEO and founder of UUDS Gilles Negre said: “We are proud to enter into this cooperation agreement with JORAMCO as a leader in MRO. Our joint capabilities offer our clients the most efficient, turn-key, and added value solutions”.
