Jordan elected head of Arab Organisation for Agricultural Development

AMMAN — Jordan was elected to head the Arab Organisation for Agricultural Development (AOAD) Executive Council for the years 2020-2022.

The Ministry of Agriculture, in a statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said that the council includes Egypt, Iraq, Algeria, Kuwait, Oman, Libya and Djibouti, noting that Iraq has been elected as vice president.

The AOAD was established in 1970, upon the desire of the Arab countries to coordinate their different policies in agriculture, natural and human resources as well as economic development, in order to achieve the ultimate goal of a fully integrated Arab economies, according to its website.
