Jordan, Germany explore environmental technologies, policy cooperation

AMMAN — The Lower House’s Health and Environment Committee on Tuesday has concluded a visit to Germany, aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two countries in developing environmental and health policies.

Panel President Issa Khashashneh, who headed a parliamentary delegation to Germany, said that the visit also aimed at discussing clean energy alternatives, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Khashashneh and the delegates were introduced to German expertise on the mechanisms of handling and recycling wastes and creating new job opportunities in the field.

They also examined methods of resource adaptation to generate alternative energy and visited facilities of waste burning and biogas emission from cattle and poultry.

Khashashneh also discussed issues of mutual interest between the two countries in the fields of technical and vocational education and ways to boost partnership between main municipalities in both countries, mainly in the health and environment sectors.
