Jordan to host meeting over end to Syria crisis today

AMMAN — The Kingdom on Monday is scheduled to host a meeting of the foreign ministers of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Egypt, with the foreign minister of Syria.
In a statement, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Sinan Majali said that the meeting is intended to follow up on the consultative meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt, hosted by Saudi Arabia in Jeddah on April 14 of this year.
The Monday meeting also builds participating countries' contact with the Syrian government, and the Jordanian initiative to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis, according to the statement.
