RAMALLAH — Jordan and Palestine on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding to develop cooperation in energy, gas extraction, electricity, power rationalisation, shale oil, natural resources excavations and exchanging expertise.

The memo was signed during a meeting Energy Minister Mohammad Hamed held with Palestinian Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mohammad Mustafa and Palestinian Energy Authority President Omar Kittaneh.

Discussions covered ways to finalise the integration of Jordanian and Palestinian power grids through the Arab Electricity Network project.

Talks also addressed the Kingdom’s plan to import gas from Gaza and to continue covering Jericho’s electricity needs.
