Jordan Red Crescent marks international occasion

AMMAN — The Jordan Red Crescent (JRC) on Tuesday joined world countries in celebrating the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day themed “Everywhere for Everyone”. This year’s theme aims to highlight the universal presence and impact of the international humanitarian movement, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The JRC said in a statement carried by Petra that the world marks this occasion in May everyyear, as national institutions, deployed in 190 countries and have under their umbrella 17 million volunteers, celebrate the occasion to shed light on the movement’s role in delivering humanitarian support in cases of disasters and conflicts.

A special celebration is scheduled to be held next Saturday at the JRC headquarters, during which supporters of the organisation will be honoured, according to Petra.
